About Us

APEA's mission...

"Our mission is to promote the humane treatment of all animals, eliminate pet overpopulation, provide public education regarding animal care and welfare, protect the animals placed in our care, and to seek responsible homes for the animals that can be adopted."

APEA's Goal...

"Our goal is that every animal has a happy place to live out the rest of its life and to do so with someone who loves them."

Animal Protection and Education Assoc. Inc. is a non profit animal rescue. We rescue animals for an unfortunate variety of reasons; cruelty cases, abandonment, strays, hurricanes, and feral cat colonies.

Our Pennsylvania chapter works mostly on removal of feral colonies of cats from different areas, we get them spayed / neutered and find them good loving homes. We also answer calls on dog cruelty and horse cruelty and assist in removing them from bad situations.

Our Mississippi chapter works on rescuing horses, dogs, cats, birds, and pigs from cruelty cases, abandonment, and works with all of the local shelters on getting animals good loving homes. We also rescue animals from hurricanes along the coast, and we take in neglected horses and rehabilitate them.

We rely on donations and fundraising to operate. We accept donated vehicles and monetary donations and we can give you a tax deductible receipt for your donation!

APEA is a non profit organization founded in 1989 by a group of concerned indiviuals in Jackson County, MS. Our Vancleave Mississippi chapter was founded in 2002 and we have expanded the organization to Pennsylvania in 2008.
